Where's the pro-choice movement for men? Women have the right to decide to be a parent but men dont. Why?
support a womans right to choose on the abortion issue. But what's missing is the right of a man to choose whether he wants to be a parent. Many of the people who answer on this forum always say foolish things like men should be responsible or "keep in their pants." The fact remains about this inequality. People make mistakes. We don't force women to make a life altering choice. There's no social stigma. That's the woman's choice. But for a man, we are required by law to financially support a child that we may not want. We should have a choice as well. Men are labeled, chastised, ostracized, and jailed for this same reproductive issue. Men should be able to voluntarily give up their parental rights and walk away just as women do if they decide to get an abortion or give the child up for adoption. The women can make a parenting decision independent of the mans wishes. In the spirit of equality, men should have the same rights. Don't you agree?
